I’ve been traveling so much lately (for work and play) I wanted little more this weekend than to stay close to home and relax. My wish came true, for the most part. There’s a dog at the other end of the couch, warming my feet, snoring and gently kicking in his sleep every so often. On TV, Peggy Olson just pitched an advertising campaign for Popsicles. “Beloved,” she tells a tableful of buttoned-up suits. (That’s how you feel when someone breaks a Popsicle in two and gives you half.) This is another beloved gift, which made me feel beloved, too: An afghan my grandma made many years ago. She gave it to me a few months back — “I know you like bright colors.”
