Bread Before Breakfast
Some days, my life feels like a tug-of-war between being a good homemaker and a career woman. (I realize this is nothing original.) I came home late from work last night and could not face the mess that was my kitchen, the near-empty pantry, any of it. Funny thing about messes: They’re still there when you wake up. So I buckled down and cleaned mine; made this bread (in lieu of, you know, grocery shopping); threw some pork in the crockpot with seasonings. All of which made my homecoming this evening much sweeter than last.
