Through the Snow

Through the Snow

That this picture, the best of the handful I took tonight, is out of focus seems somewhat appropriate. This whole day was out of focus, beginning with an early morning phone call from my mom to tell me my grandpa has had a stroke. He was considered stable enough that we felt we could take a long-planned trip to Cincinnati for an important event with my husband’s family. I’ll see him Sunday. In the meantime, though, prayers are going up, and an unforeseen trip to a church on a mountaintop seems serendipitous.

“No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope and fear;
But grateful take the good I find,
The best of now and here.”
-John G. Whittier
