Work this week has felt strictly utilitarian — get in, get the job done, get out. It’s also required a slightly dizzying “1st shift/2nd shift/1 shift/2nd shift” schedule, which I’m worried leaves me at the bottom of my game. I am a passionate person and “utilitarian” is not the way I prefer to do things. Today was the exception in the otherwise dull week. I found myself in unfamiliar territory, where I stopped to photograph this church tower through tiny spits of snow that (I hope) were the dying gasp of winter. Goal: Don’t be one of those people who just “gets the job done,” no matter how tempting. Find beauty in the mundane; make the most of routine opportunity.
