A little unsolicited advice: If your choices on a chilly Sunday afternoon are 1) get a start on that spring-cleaning or 2) drive two hours to visit friends and their new baby, by all means, choose that sweet baby. I recently caught up with an 88-year-old friend whose wife passed away in February, and he talked about what a good life they had and how the memories help with his grief. I remembered that conversation today, because the friend we visited this afternoon also lost someone in February, her mother, much too soon. A few weeks later, she had a baby boy. One obviously does not replace the other. But as I looked around their house today, now full of two great parents and three lively children, I smiled just thinking how many wonderful memories they have yet to create. I wish them peace on the journey.
